What is the difference between Office 365 & Office 2019?
Office 1.0 was released in November 1990. We have had 18 versions since then and also thrown into the mix we have Office 365.
What is the difference and which will be best for you and your business?
Office 2019
Office 2019 is a one-time purchase. You pay a single up-front cost and get the Office apps for one machine. There are no upgrade options, so if you plan to upgrade you will then have to pay the full price for each new major version you require.
Office 365
Office 365 is a subscription-based service. You pay a monthly or yearly fee, for which you get all the Office apps. You will also have access to your own extras online storage and cloud features, meaning you can collaborate on files in real time. When updates occur, you are entitled to them all with your monthly/yearly subscription meaning you will always have the most up to date versions to work with no extra cost. The Office 365 plan also lets you share your subscription across 5 devices too! You also get one mailbox with each subscription, which is something you need to.
There are several different Office 365 plans for businesses of all sizes as well as home and personal plans. Most of the plans include the fully installed apps but Microsoft also offers more basic plans with online versions, file storage and email. You have the flexibility to choose what will work best for you.
